404 errors – broken links – are a growing problem for researchers. As many as 70% of cited links in journals suffer from link rot. This workshop describes Digital Object Identifiers (DOIs) and other permalinks, and introduces Perma.cc, a permalink service from Harvard Law supported by the UMKC University Libraries. We’ll discuss the role of Digital Scholarship Services as a Registrar, who the constituents are, and the service can support faculty and graduate student researchers.
